It’s common knowledge at this point that Clemson lost some vital pieces on offense over the past year. Tee Higgins left for the NFL and the devasting loss for of Justyn Ross this season means Clemson lacks the very weapons that took over the college football world in the 2018 National championship game against a record setting Alabama team. However, Clemson is not left empty handed for this season. Like every year, the Tigers just reload the well-oiled Dabo Sweeney led machine. Through three games; have the tigers missed the mark compared to past teams?
Clemson opens up this year with a stout 3-0 record, as usual they make practice of most teams until the playoffs start. Through three games the Tigers have roared a total of 1432 yards of total offense. Compared to last year’s team through the same amount of games, that’s only 200 exact yards less than the 2019 juggernaut team. The exciting part for tiger fans is that through three games the tigers have put up 948 passing/receiving yards. Compare this to the first three games of the 2019 squad that included Higgins and Ross and the 2020 tigers come out on top. It’s clear over the years that regardless of the great players moving on from Clemson, Dabo still finds a way to fuel his dynasty year after year. For the Tiger fans out there, it appears the only ones saying “Go Tiguhs” this year will be wearing orange.
